[Reuters] BRICS+ - Breaking News: Kazakhstan and Turkey Threaten Trade Route Closures Amid BRICS+ Tensions

Kazakhstan and Turkey have indicated they may close critical trade routes in response to growing frustrations over their treatment at a BRICS+ meeting this afternoon. “Given that we feel sidelined by the committee, we are considering closing all trading routes,” a Kazakh delegate told Reuters. Both countries, present as observer states, have expressed dissatisfaction with being excluded from key discussions. As a result, the Turkish and Kazakh delegations are contemplating drastic actions, including the potential shutdown of vital trade corridors, such as the Bosporus Strait, the New Eurasian Land-Bridge Corridor (NELB), and the China-Central Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor (CCAWEC).
