[AFP] Crisis - Gay marriage pushed for and legalized in Bordeaux by Catholic (1563)

French philosopher and member of the Parliament of Bordeaux, Etienne de La Boetie was successful in their campaign for the legalization of gay marriage in the city of Bordeaux. They realized the need for this act in the midst of religious conflicts and violent battles saying,

“I realized the war between the protestants, catholics, the Spanish and British- just everybody fighting each other is because deep down they love each other, they love each other and want to kiss each other.”

Their efforts are not completed as now the question of if a nation-wide legalization would aid in easing the tension between protestants and catholics is on the table.
