[Associated Press] NATO - Canada threatens to veto NATO’s final communique over GDP benchmark disagreement

On Sunday morning, a leak was sent to the press that NATO’s communique is under risk of getting vetoed due to Canada disagreeing on the clause requesting 3-5% of member states’ GDP being allocated to defense. At the moment, Canada does not meet the benchmark recommended in the last 10 years as they spend less than 2% of their GDP on defense.

Updates to follow as NATO is drafting the final communique.
