On Sunday morning, members of the Social, Cultural & Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) discussed the monitoring of States to start their working paper.
Members of SOCHUM decided on including international and local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in their guidelines and seek to create a channel between groups to encourage communication and collaboration between states and NGOs.
Members of SOCHUM stopped discussing the topic of language, which will not be included in the guidelines as no consensus has been reached. The guidelines will involve education, healthcare, political participation, housing and employment, stressing on the monitoring of States.
Members are still in the writing procedure, but consensus has been reached, though the President of SOCHUM did not erase the possibility of any future debates.
