[Al Jazeera]- Restoring IAEA Inspections & Regulations

In the early afternoon, the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) voted with a sweeping majority of states to restore IAEA inspection and regulations. In the light of current re-militarisation and ongoing international tensions, the DISEC countries all favored the reimplementation of IAEA inspection and regulations, arguing that transparency and trust is essential for sustainable multilateral agreements. 

China further added that transparency shows countries willingness to enter multilateral dialogue. The only country advocating against this implementation proved to be Israel’s delegation claiming that those regulations proved ineffective in previous cases and instead pushes for a peace agreement in the Middle East.
