[POLITICO EU] Aliens, Socialists, and Ketamine: Elon Musk Takes the Floor at the European Parliament

Following a short break for lunch, the European Parliament reconvened in the hemicycle to continue debating democracy and artificial intelligence. Before MEPs could resume discussions, they were treated to a surprise appearance: Elon Musk, businessman and former Senior Advisor to the President of the United States. 

In a somewhat incoherent string of thoughts which left politicians somewhere between disbelief and amusement, the tech-tycoon admitted to being uncertain of what exactly the European Parliament is, before likening homosexuals to “aliens” and referring to a Romanian MEP as a socialist. 

As the Parliamentary meeting swiftly deteriorated into a political theatre, the same MEP referred to Musk as “daddy,” before questioning his sleep habits, and inquiring on his ketamine consumption habits. Discussions in Brussels continue as the Parliament attempts to regain composure before returning to the scheduled debate.
